Hair Care - your crowning glory?
Androgenic Alopecia is the medical term for Male Pattern Baldness/hair loss related related to male hormones.
There are many theories on the exact mechanism of hair loss, but most relate to the male hormones and or immunological effects on the growth of the hair follicle (Dr Kligman and others).
"Balding begins when male sex hormones do "something " to the scalp hair follicle which causes it to be read as a "foreign body".
Other causes of hair loss include medical, trauma, drugs eg. Chemotherapy.
Treatment of hair loss can be either surgical or non surgical.
- Surgical - flaps, grafting macro (punch) or micro grafting( follicle)
- Non- surgical - oral treatments ( Propecia=finasteride)
- topical therapy ( Rogaine/Regaine= Minoxidil)
At FRESHfaceCLINIC, we use a non-surgical approach, minimising scarring, and the side effects of oral treatments.
We use our own special formulation with a scalp roller to amplify the local effects on the hair follicles.
